lets take a minute to talk about how fucking badass my little cousin is?

I was doing face painting at my niece’s third birthday party today, and my 9/10 year old cousin tyler was there. (he’s the awesome dude with a butterfly on his face)

Now let me start off by saying, tyler isn’t a particularly feminine or “girly” boy. He plays sports and such, but also happily attends his older sister’s dance recitals. Long explaination short… at nine or ten (idk)

He already understands that things, and hobbies, and colors, and interests are not split up between boys are girls.

when he came up and I asked him what he wanted he chuckled a bit but very clear and confidently said he wanted the butterfly. he wanted the pink butterfly.

he got a little shit from some family who would see his face, laugh, smile, and say “hey Ty, aren’t butterflies for girls?”

he would just respond with “they are a part of nature… nature isn’t just for girls”

and that was that.

I fucking love my little cousin.

I love seeing posts on Tumbr where little kids are validated in their decisions in their appearance or gender expression or hobbies because I never had that and I’m gunna cry now

The all wise, all powerful “God” as seen by rednecks…

I’d like to correct this:
“God, send us someone to cure AIDS, cancer, etc., etc.”
“I did, but you gave them a substandard education because they lived in an area with poor funding due to low property taxes.  I did, but you let them die because they couldn’t afford healthcare.  I did, but due to racism you stomped out their potential and didn’t give them the same opportunities.  I did, but you make a college education too unaffordable while giving the big bankers passes.  I did, but you saw a homeless youth before you saw a kid with potential.  I did, but you kicked the downtrodden while they were already shoulder deep in sinking sand.”

THIS COMMENT!!!!!  ^^^

YES! That comment!!!

how about
“I did, but she never got to go to med school since she was forced to keep the baby when she got knocked up at 16.”

“I did, but she thought that because she had a baby she wasn’t good enough to try anyway and gave up because that is what society told her”
